Mud, I could have my staff put together a plohtera of easy-to-find raw science journal articles for you that show how non-prescriptions substances are used regularly to treat many diseases, but to what end? When I pull up applied science articles done by phds and mds at a major university and published in a respected oncology publication, its diminished as nothing by association. I'm not really up for wasting our time trying to convince someone who thinks the earth is flat and is well behind the science. Suffice to say, that conventional medicine is several decades behind on using basic diet and nutrition and other supportive holistic therapies in medicine. And that's why over 60% of medical schools in the US now offer alternative medicine as part of their curriculum to understand what works and what doesn't, though just skimming the surface of the topic. It's also why pharmaceutical companies are slowly gobbling up supplement companies in the US. Of course other pharma companies are trying to go the standard route, like patenting a fish oil to treat high triglycerides (Lovaza) and charging about 6x as much as existing professional grade fish oil supplements that do the same thing, because they have a captured market of uneducated physicians to sell to.We cannot have a serious discussion on the topic of naturopathy if you don't understand the difference between a traditional naturopath and an actual naturopathic physican who goes to an actual medical school. This does not exist in Australia and is purely a US phenomenon. Do some research and maybe we can actually have a productive conversation about the capabilities and limitations of NM as practice by physicians, otherwise you are being skeptical of something you don't even understand. Frankly, you don't know what you don't know, and while it's fine to be skeptical, if its a totally uninformed opinion that you should keep to yourself until you actually have a clue as to what you are talking about.
